Our Team

anjel

The creative atmosphere and award-winning designs of Akada Salon are the vision of Anjel McLaughlin. She’s a rare blend of passion and practicality, devoted to her employees as well as her clients and she’s created a hair salon unlike any other.

A skilled practitioner of her trade, she is regarded as not only an expert stylist, but as a visionary entrepreneur as well. For the last 20 years, her primary focus has been on creating an environment where both stylists and clients can flourish, feeling happy, fulfilled and confident. Anjel has trained with Vivienne Mackinder Nick Arrojo, Anna Pucetti, Joseph DiMaggio, Vidal Sassoon London and Tigi London.

Having worked alongside cognitive psychologists and expert consultants, Anjel concentrates her efforts on teaching her stylists to be as skilled at communication as they are at working with hair.

With a love for fostering relationships and being surrounded by people, she believes in remaining open to differences and appreciating them. Her art is making her clients and employees feel strong, confident and beautiful inside and out.

Our stylists are required to travel for training sessions at least once per year in an attempt to expand their minds and hone in on their fashion sense. We believe these experiences are part of the larger learning experience that keeps our industry fresh and our stylists sharp. The stylists personal education fund is derived from 10% of every product purchase they sell.
