THE PERKS OF BEING AN AKADA CLIENT
As an Akada client, you have access to a team of highly educated and talented stylists! All stylists complete an advanced training course in house, as well as many continuing education courses throughout the year. We carry several different quality product lines, with price points to suit everyone’s needs. Because we truly love these products, we offer new clients 10% off their first retail purchase so they can recreate their amazing stylist’s work at home.

POLICIES AND FIRST VISIT INFO

  • Please call to schedule your first visit! We can set you up for online booking once you have your initial appointment.

  • Please let us know 24 hours before your appointment if you need to cancel or reschedule. Clients who cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours notice twice within a six month period will be asked to prepay for their appointments. If you will be more than 15 minutes late, please call the salon.

  • We have a parking lot behind the salon that is accessible via Oakland Ave. The adjacent lot is for the library, and in the interest of maintaining our relationship with our neighbors, please refrain from parking there.

  • We accept all major credit cards except for Discover, however, you cannot add a gratuity to a card. Most stylists have Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle. Here is a note on our tipping policy from our owner, Anjel:

“As a small service based business my greatest asset is my employees. I have always felt to attract and retain the best I need to provide them with a solid future. I provide my employees with health and dental care, paid vacation, and a retirement plan that my company contributes too. This is a huge accomplishment for any small business but especially for a service based business as the margins are quite low.

Being keenly aware of cost as to insure the sustainability of these added benefits is crucial. Allowing tips on credit cards for 13 stylists would significantly raise the monthly cost of what I pay for processing. It’s one small thing that I can alleviate as there are other options for clients to tip. I realize it may be inconvenient but hopefully this provides you with an understanding.”

 Preparing For Your Appointment

  • We LOVE inspiration photos

Photos are a great way to discuss all the things you like and dislike.

  • For color appointments, it is tremendously helpful to have a history of your color services, both performed in salon and at home.

  • On the day of your appointment please arrive with your hair how you normally wear it.
Whether we are doing cut or color, it helps us to see where you are and what you are currently doing with your hair.

  • Please make sure your hair is free of tangles and not matted. If we must spend the allotted time freeing your hair of tangling, we will have to reschedule the original hair service. There will also be a detangling charge.

  • Be considerate about what you wear to your appointment, bulky clothing is very difficult to work around. Wearing a shirt that fits against your skin and not up your neck is best. If this is not realistic, as you are coming from work and wear collared shirts, we have robes for you to change into if this is an issue or bring a shirt of your own to change into.

  • One of the most Important things to take into consideration is timing, please plan to spend the allotted amount of time for your service, as this will give you the best results. Feel free to ask our receptionist how long your appointment Is booked for. Additionally, please arrive on time, if you are too late, we will have to reschedule part or all of your services.

  • If you are not sure what would look best and be best for the well-being of your hair, we offer consultations as an appointment in itself, with our face-first consulting we can design a personalized look that is tailored to your features and qualities. Then from there we can schedule your services.

QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER FOR YOUR CONSULTATION ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1.      How much time daily do you want to spend on your hair?

2.      What is your ideal maintenance schedule for haircuts and color?

3.      Do you need to be able to pull your hair back?

4.      Discuss cost for maintenance and upkeep with your stylist, so we can help evaluate what will work best for you.

5.      Keep in mind colors these days are quite complex. It may take several appointments to get you exactly where you want to be depending on where you are currently.

Examples:

“What is too short?”

“What is too long?”

“What colors are out of the question?” and

“What daily maintenance is acceptable?”
